Frequently asked questions

Can you X-Ray and core on the same day or evening?

Nova is a one stop shop.  One crew will do it all! X-Ray first and core immediately after the client reviews the X-Ray image.

How long does an X-Ray image take?

Q-Deck slab images are captured in 3 to 8 seconds. 8-inch concrete slabs are captured in 30 seconds. 10-inch concrete slabs are captured in 60 to 90 seconds. 12-inch to 14-inch concrete slabs are captured in 120 to 180 seconds.

What exclusion zones are required?

Each thickness of concrete requires a different intensity of radiation which will determine the exclusion zone.  Typically, we tell clients we need 15 feet on the top side of the slab and 30 feet on the bottom side of the slab to be cleared of people.

How many X-Rays can you do in one day or evening?

Typically, we can shoot 8 to 10 X-Rays per hour with the floor sketches.

Can you X-Ray anything else besides concrete?

We have X-Rayed iPhones, android phones, laptops, plants, tools, shoes and many other objects.  If you have a request just ask us!
